About Emma
Having lived in three different countries, I am well aware of how difficult it is to navigate foreign legal systems. This is especially the case when you are grieving following the death of a loved one or when you are thinking about your own assets after your death. I aim to make this process as straightforward as possible for my clients so that they can focus on themselves and their loved ones at a difficult time of their lives.
Emma is an associate in the private client team. She joined Russell-Cooke in 2022.
Emma advises on private client matters, most of which have a cross-border element, including:
- Wills and estate planning, including inheritance tax.
- Estate administration: applications for grants of probate, grants of letters of administration and post-grant distribution of assets. This often involves working alongside foreign counterparts (including notaires) in cross-border successions.
- Powers of attorney: advising on and preparing lasting powers of attorney for property and financial affairs and/or health and welfare, acting for attorneys, including in cross-border matters where the attorney and/or the protected party resides abroad.
Having lived, studied and worked in France, Emma has an interest in succession matters involving France and is bilingual in English and French.
