Law Society Chair appointment for Russell-Cooke consultant Peter Cadman

Russell-Cooke consultant Peter Cadman has been appointed Chair of the Law Society Professional Standards and Ethics Committee. He has been a member of the Committee for a number of years. The role commences from 31 August 2021 for a period of three years.

The Committee provides ethical guidance to the profession on a wide range of issues and also produces practice notes as guidance to practitioners.

Peter also retains his membership as the Law Society representative on the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal Users Group.

As a consultant in the regulation team, Peter advises companies and their individual directors in matters relating to regulatory and criminal law issues, from corruption to potential money laundering offences.

Peter regularly acts as an advocate in disciplinary and regulatory proceedings before Disciplinary Tribunals, Appeal Tribunals and in the High Court. Peter's expertise is reflected by his appointment as a decision maker for many regulatory bodies.
