Russell-Cooke’s real estate team has advised Soho Theatre Company on a development agreement for a lease and long lease for its new site in Walthamstow.
The new 1,000 seat venue hosting comedy, theatre and cabaret will bring the iconic Soho Theatre’s acclaimed programme to a wider audience.
The Grade II listed site, previously a cinema in the heart of Walthamstow, has undergone extensive refurbishment pursuant to the terms of the Agreement for Lease and will open in May 2025. The theatre, which will partner with Waltham Forest Council to offer discounted tickets to locals, is set to be a cultural hub for the local community. Its opening has been widely covered in the national press.
The team advising was led by consultant Simon Catt and partner Chris Barkley and included partner Pippa Beesley and associate Joe Maloney. The transaction closed in January 2025.
