Russell-Cooke has published its 2023-24 Responsible Business Report, which provides a comprehensive summary of the firm’s current performance and ongoing commitments across a range of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria.
The information contained in the report is divided into four categories – Environment, Justice, People, and Community – and sets out the firm’s action plan for managing and taking demonstrable steps forward on key issues in each area.
Highlights of the firm’s achievements since last year’s report include:
- developing a new sustainable procurement policy
- increasing female partner numbers from 35% to 41% over the course of the 2022-2023 financial year
- increasing the number of state school-educated trainees from 56% in 2024 cohort to 83% in 2025 cohort
- recording 12922 hours of legal aid work carried out by 75 fee-earners from across the firm
- setting up a pilot volunteering scheme for employees

The committee meets regularly to debate and propose new initiatives and to check on progress against the commitments from our last report.
