I have more than 14 years’ experience working with high value clients across the real estate world. Holding a profile in the wider women in property and development communities, I pride myself on the long term relationships I have developed since joining the firm. I strive to support clients with my commercial awareness; my advice is legally astute, pragmatic and always to the commercial benefit of my clients.

Katie joined Russell-Cooke as a trainee in 2009 and qualified into the real estate team in 2011.

She advises on a wide range of real estate transactions including acquisitions and disposals, commercial development, landlord and tenant matters and real estate finance. Katie has cross sector expertise with a focus on industrial, logistics and retail.

Her clients include developers, both off-shore and domestic investors, pension providers and landlords and tenants.

Experience

  • Acting for an ultra-urban industrial and logistics developer on the acquisition of its first London properties with a combined value in excess of £125 million.

  • Acting on various development and investment acquisitions cross sector with values ranging from £12 to £23 million. 

  • Acting on behalf of an off-shore unit trust specialising in multi-let industrial estates on property management, acquisitions and disposals.

  • Acting for an overseas Landlord in the granting of an agreement for lease governing both landlord and tenant works, lease with an annual rent in excess of half a million and licence for works.

  • Acting for a Tenant in connection with the relocation of their head office consisting of a short term reversionary lease of their existing premises with reversionary subleases, agreement for lease conditional upon landlord’s refurbishment works, lease with an annual rent of high six figures and licence for works.

  • Acting for an independent school in connection with its relocation brought about by the potential of a CPO ahead of a council led regeneration scheme. The transaction involved nine counterparties and included; a complex development agreement for lease, bank finance, third party security for deferred consideration, personal loans, funding arrangements for construction costs with the council’s JV partner, option and leasing arrangements for the existing site, a joint freehold purchase agreement, joint ownership deed and consideration of 1920 statutory enfranchisement rights as the new site was to be occupied by a Baptist Chapel in addition to the school.

  • Acting for a long lessee in the contingent sale of a multi-let site for £12.3 million. The sale agreement included complex planning and sales overage as well as various deeds of covenant.
