From 17–22 January, associates Signe Sparne, Rohan Bhasin and Nick Manning headed to Propski 2025 in Val Thorens, joined by senior associates Thomas Ferguson and Fiona Dos Santos as well as partners Pippa Beesley and Katie Cooper.

Representing Russell-Cooke, which proudly sponsored the event, the real estate team couldn’t wait to hit the slopes (or in some cases, ‘attempt the slopes’ for the first time!). Signe, Rohan and Nick reflect on their experiences.

Russell-Cooke Opening Forum

The trip began on the evening Friday 17 January with a flight to Geneva, where we stayed overnight before heading to the mountains the early morning of Saturday 18 January. The drive to Val Thorens was nothing short of spectacular, with stunning mountain views setting the scene for an exciting few days ahead. By Saturday afternoon, we arrived and jumped straight into action. First up was the Russell-Cooke Opening Forum and presentation, followed by drinks and networking with fellow ‘Propskiers’. This event was a great way to meet all the existing and new Propskiers and was a really beneficial way of breaking the ice and building some initial connections. It was a fantastic start to the next four days, and we ensured the RC brand made its mark early!

Ski school

Sunday morning started with ski school, which was a whole new experience for us.  After a bit of practice (and a lot of balancing and falling over!), we managed our first runs down the green slopes. With some of our attempts at staying upright more successful than others. Ski school wasn’t just about learning to ski—it was also a brilliant way to network by meeting other beginners and share a few laughs (and bruises) along the way. By the end of the three sessions, we’d already made some great contacts. We rounded off the lessons with more skiing and some much-needed hot chocolate at La Maison—because what’s a day on the slopes without a warm drink?

Business development on the slopes!

With over 600 property professionals in attendance, the event was packed with opportunities to meet people, share ideas, and grow our network. The next few days were full of lunches, dinners, and plenty of networking both on and off the slopes. Propski brought together a great mix of people, and the relaxed atmosphere made it easy to develop business and connect.

Russell-Cooke Closing Party

The RC team hosted the closing party, and it was definitely one to remember. The evening started with drinks, followed by a charity raffle and auction, before a DJ set closed out the night in true Propski style. It was the perfect way to celebrate a brilliant few days and say goodbye to all the wonderful contacts we had made throughout Propski.

Final thoughts

Our four days in Val Thorens were filled with falls, laughs, great conversations, and new connections. Propski 2025 wasn’t just about the skiing—it was about building relationships and being part of an amazing community of property professionals. We’re excited to keep those connections going as we head back to work!
