About Amy
Often clients come to me at an extremely challenging time in their lives, whether they themselves have been injured or they have sadly lost a loved one. I provide a sensitive and effective approach to the legal process and seek for them the compensation they deserve in recognition of the pain, suffering and financial losses caused by negligence.
Amy represents clients in civil claims for compensation arising as a result of negligence.
Amy's expertise in personal injury claims includes acting for clients who have been involved in road traffic accidents; and accidents leading to public liability and employers' liability claims. In the context of Amy's clinical negligence practice, she regularly deals with claims against hospital trusts, private clinicians, GPs, and other healthcare providers. She has also represented clients seeking compensation in dental negligence cases.
She has represented bereaved families at pre-inquest reviews and inquests in the coroners’ courts.
Amy takes pride in providing a professional and sympathetic service to all her clients.
She provides support and guidance to members of the public through a local Citizens' Advice Bureau and local Law Centres.
I want to express my gratitude for your hard work, professionalism, and clear communication throughout the duration of the claim.
Experience
Clinical negligence:
-
achieved a settlement of £115,000 for Mr L in his clinical negligence claim against Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The claim arose out of an incorrect diagnosis of adenocarcinoma following a mix-up of prostate biopsy samples at St Peter’s Hospital
-
secured a settlement of £100,000 for a client whose wife sadly died from complications arising as a result of an investigative medical test, in respect of which she was not properly consented. Whilst Barts Health NHS Trust admitted they had failed to obtain informed consent, they disputed causation. Amy argued on the client’s behalf that his wife would not have undergone the procedure in question if there had been sufficient discussion enabling her to consider the non-invasive treatment options, which she would have been able to access under her private medical insurance
Personal injury:
- acted for a 29-year old motorcyclist in his road traffic accident claim. The claimant suffered serious orthopaedic and psychological injuries in addition to a range of financial losses, in respect of which a settlement in the region of £110,000 was agreed
Inquest:
- represented the daughters of a 79-year old gentleman at inquest following his tragic death from pulmonary thromboembolism secondary to deep vein thrombosis. Amy helped the family to secure a Prevention of Future Deaths report, which the coroner issued in light of concerns regarding inconsistencies in the prescription of TED stockings at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust
