Russell-Cooke promotes five senior associates
Russell-Cooke has announced five senior associate promotions that will take effect from 1 July 2023.
The entirely female cohort hails from the firm’s property litigation, charity, family, real estate and private client teams, with three based in Putney and one each in Bedford Row and Kingston.
The newly-promoted senior associates will be:
Harriet Allsop: property litigation
Harriet assists businesses and individuals in managing and resolving disputes in relation to both commercial and residential properties, such as enforcement, lease renewals, rights of light and arrears recovery. In particular Harriet deals with a range of commercial landlord and tenant disputes, working alongside our insolvency and commercial real estate departments in relation to enforcement and recovery, and on commercial lease renewals, assisting with the statutory notice formalities and court proceedings, for both landlords and tenants.
Rebecca Cumming: charity and not for profit
Rebecca advises charities and other not-for-profit organisations on a broad range of governance and operational matters. She supports clients with issues such as establishing new charities, incorporations, mergers, endowments and restricted funds, governing documents, regulatory issues with the Charity Commission, policies, contracts, fundraising, trading and intellectual property. Prior to becoming a solicitor, Rebecca worked in the charity sector and also in legal research and publishing.
Helena French: family and children
Helena advises on a range of family matters arising from the breakdown of relationships or where there are disputes relating to children. These include divorce and separation, financial proceedings, and issues arising from the situation of non-married couples including property disputes under TLATA. She has experience in matters involving children, including domestic and international relocation matters and international child abduction. She also advises clients on matters at the start of the relationship including pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements and declarations of trust for property ownership.
Fiona Dos Santos: real estate
Fiona advises individuals, trusts, charities and corporations, both in the UK and overseas, across a range of property matters including commercial and residential sales and purchases, block contracts and development site acquisitions, as well as auction sales and purchases, escheat and rent concession letters. She also assists clients with lease renewals, including those within the 1954 Act, and complex agreements for lease, options or conditional contract structures. She has broad sector knowledge, advising hotels and retail chains to data centres and clients in the arts.
Olivia Llewellyn: private client
Olivia advises individuals, families and trustees on all aspects of private client work, including drafting wills, advising on estate planning and wealth protection, the preparation of lasting powers of attorney and the preparation and administration of trusts. Olivia qualified in 2015 and joined Russell-Cooke in 2023.
I am delighted to see this group of talented lawyers reach the next stage in their careers. This latest set of promotions demonstrates that women are increasing in representation at every level of seniority, and from 1 July will comprise 67% percent of the senior associate population and 47% percent of the partnership. Senior women at partner and senior associate level provide important role models for women entering the firm and reflecting on their future career options. We are committed to empowering women to progress and these latest promotions are a reflection of this commitment. My congratulations to the successful candidates who I know to be great assets to the firm. I wish them all the very best in the future!
