Russell-Cooke’s Matt Bosworth reappointed to Sports Resolutions Pro Bono Service Panel
Russell-Cooke regulation partner Matt Bosworth has been reappointed to the Sports Resolutions Pro Bono Service Panel. This three-year appointment came about from a re-tendering process and takes effect from July 2024 until the next invitation to retender in 2027.
The Pro Bono Legal Advice and Representation Service (the Service) originates and operates as a legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Members of the original London 2012 Pro Bono Legal Advice & Representation Service, operated by Sport Resolutions, assisted athletes, and others with Games accreditation, by providing pro bono legal advice on any Games-related matter.
The purpose of the Service is to provide pro bono legal advice and assistance to athletes and individuals of limited financial means, who are either:
- involved in UK Sport funded high performance sport, or;
- request assistance from the Service through the British Elite Athletes Association, or;
- involved in proceedings administered by Sport Resolutions and request assistance from the Service.
Matt Bosworth has been on the panel since the London Olympics in 2012. During this period he has represented individuals from a number of different nations using the scheme from sports as diverse as athletics, tennis, swimming, rugby (union and league) and boxing.
Matt specialises in professional disciplinary, regulatory offences and reputation management matters. He regularly advises individuals, businesses and organisations as to the most effective investigation and protection procedures. He regularly acts as an advocate in disciplinary and regulatory proceedings before disciplinary and appeal tribunals. Clients that regularly seek advice and representation range from sectors as diverse as politics, entertainment, sport and international business.
